City Press reported on the research on global estimates of COVID-19-associated orphanhood, published in The Lancet and to which Prof Lucie Cluver, Prof Lorraine Sherr, and Dr Chris Desmond contributed. “South Africa has the highest number of Covid-19 orphans on the continent, with 94 625 having lost parents and guardians in the past year, a new study has revealed.
